      High Schools Updates

      • AP testing is not changing, but the registration process is being overhauled. Students will now “join” a course within their College Board account at the beginning of the school year. Then, students will have until the end of October to decide to take an AP test (and will register within their College Board account). Payment will still be provided to the school and that process will be communicated in early Fall. More about the online process and early registration will be communicated as more becomes available. Please visit College Board for more information.

      • The Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) in high schools has previously been given to students in Biology. However, to meet with federal guidelines, the ISA will now be given to juniors (regardless of the science course a student is taking). There is still limited documentation about the change, but this link highlights the work that the particular committee has been working on.

      Elementary and Middle Schools Updates

      • The Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) will be more robust in 2019-20 according to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). ISBE doesn’t have much documentation to discuss the changes, but this link highlights the work that the particular committee has been working on.
