    Benefits of Summer Reading

According to the American Library Association, summer reading programs can help ensure children retain reading skills.

In addition, participation in a summer reading program can help students develop the habit of reading, while also generating interest in the library and books.

Plus, summer reading programs can be fun and provide an opportunity for families to spend time together!

Pre-K families: Please also consider inquiring about the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at your local library. The program is an excellent opportunity to develop your child’s early literacy skills!
