Expectations for Graduation
You must have a D-CHS cap and gown in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Inappropriate behavior at school and/or graduation can have an adverse effect on your participation in the ceremony. When families and students choose to celebrate a specific graduate, it can frequently take away from the moment of the following graduates. Please consider that sometimes that timing is disrespectful of the person who is receiving his or her diploma at that moment.
At the end of the ceremony, when we present the D-CHS Class of 2020, is the appropriate time to celebrate every graduate. Out of respect for your classmates and peers, please encourage family and friends to hold their exuberance until the final moment.
Students are expected to arrive an hour before the ceremony begins and stay through the entire Commencement Ceremony.
As part of the Sears Centre’s safety protocol, random security wanding for all guests, students, and faculty will occur. This may add a slight delay to your access to the arena, so please allow enough time for any such delay. Thank you for your cooperation in advance.
Dundee-Crown High School’s graduation ceremony is on Saturday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at the Sears Centre (5333 Prairie Stone Pkwy, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192)
All students should plan to arrive to the Sears Centre no later than 9 a.m.
Maps and directions will be distributed during graduation rehearsal.
There is no limit to the number of guests who can attend the graduation ceremony.
Cap and Gown Distribution
Graduation announcements will be distributed on March 17 (these were ordered in advance).
Caps and gowns will be distributed on April 29 and 30.
Graduation rehearsal is MANDATORY if you want to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Graduation rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday, May 14 and will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. in the Main Gym. Please plan on arriving to school by 10 a.m. with enough time to park, walk to the Main Gym, and find your seat.
This year, we will be doing the elementary graduate walk directly before graduation rehearsal, departing D-C at 9 a.m.. It is our hope that you will join your classmates in walking the halls of the elementary school where you went to school to help inspire younger students and show them what a real Dundee-Crown graduate looks like.
