Families,
Thank you for your interest in Perry Elementary School, where we are building a culture of excellence, one student leader at a time! I am the proud principal of Perry Elementary!
Our mission statement is: As a Perry Community, we empower each other to do whatever it takes to learn and grow every day! Our mission is created on five foundational values: Community, Grit, Excellence, Joy, and Growth. It is my sincere hope that our entire school community, including parents, staff, and students are able to help us live up to our mission every day. In order to build a culture of excellence, it is critical that we expect excellence. I hope that families will help hold our entire school community accountable for excellence so that our students will receive the best education possible.
I have been a school principal since 2017, and joined D300 in 2023. Prior to being a school leader, I was an assistant principal and a 5th grade teacher. I am originally from the Chicagoland area, and I'm excited to serve the community in which I grew up. I have my masters in education from The University of St. Thomas in Houston and my undergraduate degree from Augustana College.
Leading a diverse school community is something that I am very passionate about, and I will do whatever I can to ensure each student's academic and social-emotional success. In order to ensure student success, it is critical that parents and school staff work together. I look forward to collaborating with you to support your students!
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks for your support,
Katie Keafer, Principal
