  • Dear Hampshire Middle School Families,

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to another exciting school year at Hampshire Middle School. As principal, I am honored to serve this incredible community and to partner with our dedicated staff, supportive families, and exceptional students. Together, we will continue to build on HMS’s strong tradition of academic excellence, inclusivity, and student growth.

This year marks my 12th year in District 300, a journey that began in 2014. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, followed by a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago.

I began my career at Dundee-Crown High School as an English teacher, where I spent five years in the classroom. I then served as assistant principal at Carpentersville Middle School for three years before joining the HMS community at the start of the 2022 school year. Since then, it has been a privilege to build strong and meaningful relationships with the students, staff, and families who make our school such a special place.

As principal, my top priority is to ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where every student can thrive. I am committed to helping all students reach their fullest potential by fostering opportunities for learning, growth, and success.

I look forward to another great year of learning and collaboration. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns—my door is always open.

    Go Whips!
    Nic Pool
