  • After School Sports (Boys & Girls)

    Meeting Dates/Times: Starts in September from 2:15-3:15 p.m. Day(s) of week: Boys - Tuesdays / Girls - Thursdays. Schedule emailed to participants when club begins.

    Description of Club: Boys/Girls After School Sports is an opportunity for 4th and 5th grade boys/girls to sign up for a free after school sports program. We learn about and participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor sports. There is a big emphasis on sportsmanship and responsibility. Participants will learn how to try their best, while still showing respect to their peers. 

     

    Choir

    Sponsor/Leader: Sonya Rohde

    Meeting Dates/Times: Mondays 2:15-2:50 p.m.

    Description of Club: Students will perform in choir. They will learn songs from the USA and around the world, music reading skills, rhythm reading skills, foundations of singing, and how to connect our school community! Concerts will be during the school day at assemblies as well as in the evening for parents and families.

     

    Environmental Club

    Sponsor/Leader: Michelle Bannerman

    Meeting Dates/Times: We meet once a month from 2:15-3:15 p.m. Dates to be determined.

    Description of Club: HES Environmental Club is a great opportunity to learn about our environment through hands-on experiments and activities. Students will be engaged through projects about our animals, oceans, erosion, and respecting the environment.  

    This group meets once a month to complete projects, activities, and lessons that help each of us learn about our Earth’s precious resources and how we can preserve them. Units covered include conservation education such as pollution, recycling, erosion, plants, animals, and other timely environmental events. We organize and enjoy an annual campus cleanup as recognition of Earth Day.

     

    Girls on the Run

    Movie Club

    Sponsor/Leader: Jeff Kissamis

    Meeting Dates/Times: Wednesdays from 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

    Description of Club: Movie Club offers 4th grade students the opportunity to create and perform sketch comedy and visual humor while working collaboratively with peers to learn about filmmaking techniques including animation, live action, sound, editing, and special effects. 

     

    Happiness Club

    Sponsor/Leader: Jessica Mertogul
    Meeting Dates/Times: From 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Dates to be determined.
    Description of Club: Happiness Club offers Kindergarten students the opportunity to learn the value of kindness with their peers. This allows students to work collaboratively and model kind behaviors that benefit the school environment.
