Dear Gilberts Elementary School Families,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the Principal of Gilberts Elementary School. As a proud graduate of District 300, I am deeply honored to serve the students, families, and staff that make up this exceptional school community.

My journey in education began with a degree in Music Education from Augustana College, followed by a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis. I began my career as a Band Director and Computer Teacher at Ira Jones Middle School in Plainfield, IL. I then served as the 5th Grade General Music Teacher and High School Band Director in the Coal City School District. During that time, I also held the role of Fine Arts Department Chair, supporting curriculum and instruction across grades K-12.

For three years, I was privileged to serve as the Assistant Principal of Coal City Middle School, where I also supported the school as the Music Booster Liaison, Title I Director, and Assistant Athletic Director. These diverse experiences have shaped my leadership approach and continue to guide my decision-making with students’ success at the center.

Most recently, I served for five years as the Principal of Westfield Community School. There, I focused on academic achievement, strengthening school-community relationships, and leading critical operational improvements to support a thriving learning environment.

As I continue at Gilberts Elementary, I am eager to grow our partnership with our students, families, and staff to create a nurturing, engaging, and empowering educational experience. I believe in servant leadership and place the academic growth and well-being of our students at the heart of all we do.

My goal is to empower every student to reach their highest potential and to ensure that our school continues to reflect the values and vision of District 300—through dedicated staff, innovative curriculum, integrated technology, and strong family and community involvement.

I look forward to welcoming our new families and reconnecting with returning ones as we begin an exciting 2025–2026 school year. Please know that my door is always open. Do not hesitate to reach out with questions, ideas, or simply to say hello.
