Dear Sleepy Hollow Elementary School Community,

As a former student of Sleepy Hollow Elementary School, it is an honor and privilege to serve our community. Every day I strive to deliver my very best to the families of Sleepy Hollow. We will continue to keep our strong traditions and uphold our solid reputation.  

My professional experience in District 300 began in 1999. At Westfield Community School, I taught language arts and social studies for the first seven years of my career. For twelve years, I served the Westfield community as an Assistant Principal. My beginning role as an administrator at Westfield Community School was to support the middle school side of the building. Later, I played an instrumental role in developing and supporting elementary programing. I was also responsible for managing building operations. These professional experiences prepared me to enter the role of Principal of Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in 2018. 

I value my educational experiences and strive to be a model of lifelong learning. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Illinois State University. I then attended Aurora University where I earned a Master of Science in Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Educational Leadership Certificate. I earned a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Aurora University, where my dissertation focused on gifted underachievement.

My goal as the instructional leader of Sleepy Hollow Elementary School is to ensure that all children can grow to reach their full potential. We will strive to reach the District’s vision to empower and equip each student to reach their highest potential in their chosen pathway. I also have a second goal to promote the simple enjoyments of living in Sleepy Hollow. Community is strong in Sleepy Hollow and through partnering with the Sleepy Hollow Police Department, Rutland Dundee Fire Department, and the Sleepy Hollow Service Club, I want the children of Sleepy Hollow to recognize the benefits of growing up in the Sleepy Hollow Community.

I promise you my honesty, my willingness to listen, and my tireless effort and support. I look forward to working in partnership with you in support of the success of our students!
