To best keep our students, families and staff safe, Big Timber Elementary School will be implementing the following arrival and dismissal procedures for the 2024-2025 school year. Please review the procedures below before arriving to drop off or pick up students. Additionally, a map for your reference has been included. These procedures apply to all families except those that have students in extended care through the Hampshire Park District. We understand that pick-up and drop off time can be stressful, but we ask everyone to be patient and courteous to each other during this time. Thank you for your support and assistance!

Morning Arrival

• Arrival Time: Student supervision does not begin until 7:45 AM. Do not drop off your student prior to 7:45 AM, as they will not be admitted into the building or supervised prior to that time. It is important that all bus lanes remain open for buses to safely and efficiently enter and exit the campus.
  
  
• Kiss-n-Go (Car Riders): Big Timber will be implementing Kiss-n-Go as our car-rider drop-off procedure. Parents/Guardians will enter the campus via S. Ridgecrest Drive turning off of Big Timber Road. Parents/Guardians should follow S. Ridgecrest Drive past the first parking lot and turn right into the second parking lot near the front of the building. This is a one-way turn around so please follow the signs. Parents/Guardians should pull into the drop off lane and pull all the way forward before letting their student out of the car. For safety, students need to exit the vehicle on the passenger side only. Supervisors will be present to assist students out of the vehicle and guide them into the building through the main entrance (Door #1). Parents/Guardians must remain in their car at all times. When exiting the parking lot, parents/guardians will turn left onto S. Ridgecrest Drive and exit the campus at Big Timber Road.
  
  
• Walkers: Students that are walking to school from Lakewood Crossings should wait at the stoplight at Big Timber Road for the crossing guard to assist them crossing on the green light. Once they have crossed Big Timber Road students should proceed to walk on the sidewalk towards the main entrance and enter the building.
  
  
• Bus Riders: Students that ride the bus to school will enter through the first parking lot turn around and enter the building through Door #21. Bus Supervisors will guide students to the appropriate entrance.
  
  
• Student Lines: All students will enter through their designated door and go straight to their classrooms. Students that would like breakfast in the morning may purchase it in the cafeteria before going to class.
  
  
• Classroom Drop-Off: Parents will not be able to enter the building to take their students to class.

Afternoon Student Pick-Up

• Dismissal: Students are dismissed at 2:15 PM each day. Parents should not expect to start seeing car riders exit the front doors until 2:20 PM at the earliest as classroom instruction ends at 2:15 PM. It is important that all bus lanes remain open for buses to safely and efficiently enter and exit the campus. We will ask that parents not pull into the pick-up lot until 2:05 PM. If you arrive for pick-up prior to 2:05 PM you must sit and wait at the entrance to the parking lot on S. Ridgecrest Dr. (picture below - green star is where the line will begin). Please make sure that you are pulled to the right hand side of the road if you are waiting for pick-up to begin. This will help relieve congestion for anyone picking students up early from school and keep everyone safe.

• Car-Riders: Parents/Guardians will enter the campus via S. Ridgecrest Drive turning off of Big Timber Road. Parents/Guardians should follow S. Ridgecrest Drive past the first parking lot and turn right into the second parking lot near the front of the building. This is a one-way turn around so please follow the signs. Parents should pull into the drop off lane and pull all the way forward. Parents must have a number sign displayed in the passenger side of the windshield for our bus supervisor to see.
  
  
  
  For safety, students will enter the vehicle on the passenger side only. Supervisors will be present to assist students into the vehicle. When exiting the parking lot, parents will turn left onto S. Ridgecrest Drive and exit the campus at Big Timber Road.
  
  
• Walkers: Students that are walking home from Big Timber will exit Door #21 with their class and walk down the sidewalk along S. Ridgecrest Drive. Students should wait at the stoplight at Big Timber Road for the crossing guard to assist them crossing on the green light. Once they have crossed Big Timber Road students should proceed to walk on the sidewalk to their house. If parents are meeting their child to walk home at the end of the school day, they should wait at the stop sign before the first parking lot (the bus lot - picture below).
  
  
  
  
• Bus Riders: Students that ride the bus home will exit through Door #21 and get on their bus parked in the first parking lot turn around. Teachers will walk their students to their buses.
  
  
• Any changes in afternoon transportation must be communicated to the front office staff at Big Timber by 1:30 PM. This will allow us to notify the classroom teacher of the transportation change.

Procedimientos de Llegada y Salida

Para mantener a nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal seguros, la Escuela Primaria Big Timber implementará los siguientes procedimientos de llegada y salida para el año escolar 2024-2025. Favor de revisar los procedimientos a continuación antes de llegar a dejar o recoger a los estudiantes. Adicionalmente, un mapa para su referencia ha sido incluido. Estos procedimientos se aplican a todas las familias excepto aquellas que tienen estudiantes en cuidado extendido a través del Distrito de Parques de Hampshire. Entendemos que la hora de recoger y dejar a los estudiantes puede ser estresante, pero les pedimos a todos que sean pacientes y corteses unos con otros durante este tiempo. Llegada En La Mañana

• Tiempo de llegada: La supervisión de los alumnos no comienza hasta las 7:45 AM. No deje a su estudiante antes de las 7:45 AM, ya que no serán admitidos al edificio o supervisados antes de esa hora. Ridgecrest Drive pasado el primer estacionamiento y dar vuelta a la derecha en el segundo estacionamiento cerca del frente del edificio. Esta es una vuelta de un solo sentido así que por favor siga las señales. Padres/Guardianes deben estacionarse en el carril para dejar a los estudiantes y estacionarse hacia adelante antes de dejarlos salir del carro. • Caminantes: Los estudiantes que caminan a la escuela de Lakewood Crossings deben esperar en el semáforo en Big Timber Road para el guardia de cruce para ayudarles a cruzar en la luz verde. Salida En La Tarde

• Salida: Los estudiantes son despedidos a las 2:15 PM cada día. Los padres no deben esperar ver a los alumnos salir por las puertas delanteras hasta las 2:20 PM como muy temprano, ya que las clases terminan a las 2:15 PM. Es importante que todos los carriles de autobuses permanezcan abiertos para que los autobuses entren y salgan del campus de forma segura y eficiente. Les pedimos a los padres que no lleguen al estacionamiento hasta las 2:05 PM. Si usted llega a recoger antes de las 2:05 PM usted debe sentarse y esperar en la entrada del estacionamiento en S. Ridgecrest Dr. (foto abajo - la estrella verde es donde la línea comenzará). Por favor, asegúrese de que usted está parado a la derecha de la carretera si usted está esperando para recoger al comenzar. • Estudiantes recogidos por vehículos: Los padres/tutores entrarán al campus por S. Ridgecrest Drive saliendo de Big Timber Road. Los padres/tutores deben seguir S. Ridgecrest Drive más allá del primer estacionamiento y girar a la derecha en el segundo estacionamiento cerca del frente del edificio. Los padres deben tener un signo de número mostrado en el lado de pasajero del parabrisas para nuestro supervisor de autobús para ver.

Por razones de seguridad, los alumnos entrarán en el vehículo únicamente por el lado del pasajero. Los supervisores estarán presentes para ayudar a los estudiantes a entrar en el vehículo. Al salir del estacionamiento, los padres girarán a la izquierda en S. Ridgecrest Drive y saldrán del campus en Big Timber Road.

• Caminantes: Los estudiantes que caminan a casa de Big Timber saldrán de la puerta #21 con su clase y caminarán por la banqueta a lo largo de S. Ridgecrest Drive. Los estudiantes deben esperar en el semáforo en Big Timber Road para que el guardia de cruce les ayude a cruzar con la luz verde. Una vez que hayan cruzado Big Timber Road los estudiantes deben proceder a caminar por la banqueta hasta su casa. Si los padres se reúnen con sus hijos para caminar a casa al final del día escolar, deben esperar en la señal de alto antes del primer estacionamiento (el estacionamiento de autobuses - foto a continuación).
  
  
  
  
• Estudiantes que toman el autobús: Los estudiantes que toman el autobús a casa saldrán por la puerta #21 y subirán a su autobús estacionado en la primera vuelta del estacionamiento. Los profesores acompañarán a los alumnos a sus autobuses.
  
  
• Cualquier cambio en el transporte de la tarde debe ser comunicado al personal de la oficina principal en Big Timber antes de las 1:30 PM. Esto nos permitirá notificar al profesor del cambio de transporte.
