Verify Your District 300 Transportation Information by August 1st

Hello District 300 families,

If your child is eligible for district transportation, their transportation information is now available to view in PowerSchool. If the information is incorrect or you need to make a change, promptly contact the Transportation Department no later than Thursday, August 1, to ensure your change is effective before the start of school. Any requests made after this date may take up to three weeks after the start of school to take effect.

If your route number is 001-199, you will need to call 847-426-1975 with your questions. If your route number is 200-399 – or you do not have any information in PowerSchool – you will need to call 847-658-3262 with your questions.

Durham, the district’s transportation provider, offers a school bus tracker app called BusZoneElementary parents, this app works with the Zonar Z Pass card program that was implemented during the 2022-23 school year for our bus routes that utilize full-size buses. Follow the instructions below to download the BusZone app, or you can visit the “Durham Bus Tracker App” web page of the district website for more details:

  1. Download the BusZone app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  2. Enter the school access code - 4009D300

  3. In the search field, enter the bus or route number you want to follow.
Complete this step for all the buses your students ride throughout the week.
**Bus route information may not be available in the app until Monday, August 12**

  4. Enter your child’s unique student ID.

  5. Create alert zones around drop-off and pick-up points.

  6. Questions or concerns, please email buszone4009@nellc.com.

When your child’s bus enters an alert zone, you will receive notification by email or text.

We are aware some families had struggles with the app last year. Improvements have been made, and most issues that were brought to us were able to be resolved. If you are having issues with your bus tracker app, please email buszone4009@nellc.com or call 847-658-3262.

If you are wanting your child bused to/from daycare and that is not reflected in the transportation information you see in PowerSchool, please contact your child’s school to have this information updated by Wednesday, July 31. The daycare location must be within the attendance boundary of the school your student attends to be eligible for transportation. Families must submit this request each year, even if the request is the same as the previous year.

In addition, I ask that you log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account one to two days prior to the first day of school – which is Tuesday, August 13 – to make sure you have the most current stop information.

If you are eligible for transportation, but electing to not have your child ride the bus, please contact 847-658-3262 – or you can email School.Bus@d300.org – to inform us of your decision.
