District 300 Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month
District 300 proudly celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month.
According to the United States Census Bureau website, "Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes and celebrates the contributions Americans tracing their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South American and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean have made to American society and culture." According to the National Archives website, "the observation began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period.
During September and October, District 300 students will engage in lessons and activities to recognize and celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.
