District 300 Schools will be Closed on Monday, January 28th
This is District 300 Superintendent Fred Heid with an important weather related update.
In keeping with our commitment to student and staff safety, District 300 schools will be closed on Monday, January 28th. All after-school practices, extra-curriculars, performances, and competitions are also cancelled.
The District 300 area weather report forecasts heavy snowfall and high winds starting late this evening and continuing through the morning. This weather projection creates a strong likelihood of hazardous road conditions and potentially dangerous circumstances for students waiting at bus stops or walking to school.
District 300 is large in geographic size and is composed of both suburban and rural areas. While one part of the District may seem to have clear roads, another may still have impassable roads. In addition, open terrain and a lack of snow fencing in certain areas may create significant drift and icing hazards.
District 300 acknowledges the inconvenience the decision to close schools may cause and we appreciate your understanding.
You can stay informed of the latest school closing information by visiting the District 300 website or by checking the District 300 Facebook and Twitter pages.
