Parents, guardians, and community members were invited to participate in the District 300: Together for Tomorrow Community Workshop series focused on shaping the future of our schools. Community members were welcome to attend any or all of the four workshops.

Community Workshop Dates and Locations

Each community workshop focused on different topics and gathered feedback on different aspects of the Master Facility Plan. While the sessions were connected, each meeting covered different topics.

Why We Hosted the Community Workshops

In 2024, District 300 worked closely with families, staff, and community members to review our school buildings and develop a long-term Master Facility Plan for improvements. That plan is now complete, and we have been seeking your help to decide if, how, and when to move forward. We want our community to have a significant role in developing the next phase of this work.

Our Master Facility Plan identified several complex challenges that must be addressed to ensure every student has access to safe, updated school buildings that support learning now and in the future. These challenges include:

• Increasing student enrollment
• Addressing aging buildings and infrastructure
• Providing educational spaces that support today’s student experience and future learning needs
• Enhancing safety and security measures

At each District 300: Together for Tomorrow Community Workshop, attendees learned more about these challenges, participated in interactive activities with fellow community members, and had a voice in how the district moves forward.

All parents, guardians, and community members were encouraged to participate.

 

Talleres Comunitarios “Juntos por el Mañana"

 

El Distrito 300 invitó a padres, tutores y miembros de la comunidad a participar en la serie de Talleres Comunitarios “Juntos por el Mañana", enfocada en forjar el futuro de nuestras escuelas. Los miembros de la comunidad estuvieron invitados a asistir a cualquiera de los cuatro talleres, o a todos.

Cada taller comunitario se enfocó en diferentes temas y recopiló comentarios sobre distintos aspectos del Plan Principal de Instalaciones. A pesar de que las sesiones estuvieron conectadas, cada reunión cubrió diferentes temas.

¿Por qué organizamos los talleres comunitarios?

En el 2024, el Distrito 300 colaboró ​​estrechamente con las familias, el personal y la comunidad para revisar nuestros edificios escolares y desarrollar un Plan Principal de Instalaciones a largo plazo para su mejora. Este plan ya está completo y hemos estado buscando su ayuda para decidir si, cómo y cuándo avanzar. Queremos que nuestra comunidad tenga un papel importante en el desarrollo de la siguiente fase de este trabajo.

Nuestro Plan Principal de Instalaciones identificó varios desafíos complejos que deben abordarse para garantizar que todos los estudiantes tengan acceso a edificios escolares seguros y actualizados que fomenten el aprendizaje ahora y en el futuro. Estos desafíos incluyen:

• Aumentar la inscripción estudiantil
• Resolver el problema del declive de los edificios y la infraestructura
• Ofrecer espacios educativos que favorezcan la experiencia estudiantil actual y sus futuras necesidades de aprendizaje
• Mejorar las medidas de seguridad

En cada Taller Comunitario del Distrito 300: Juntos por el Mañana, los asistentes aprenderon más sobre estos desafíos y participaron en actividades interactivas con otros miembros de la comunidad y expresaron su opinión sobre cómo debe avanzar el distrito.

Se motivó a participar a todos los padres, tutores y miembros de la comunidad.
