Wear Blue on October 7th to Support Bullying Prevention Awareness Month
-
October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and District 300 invites the entire community to raise bullying prevention awareness by wearing a blue shirt on Monday, October 7th.
October 7th is “Blue Shirt Day” World Day of Bullying Prevention and students and staff from all District 300 schools will wear blue shirts to support bullying prevention. Community members choosing to wear blue shirts are encouraged to post photographs on social media with #GoBlueD300.
In addition to participating in “Blue Shirt Day” World Day of Bullying Prevention, the District 300 Education Services department has developed Bullying Prevention Awareness Month activities that are appropriate for each grade level. The district will post photos of our bullying Prevention Awareness month activities on our social media channels throughout October.
During Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, the District will also highlight resources to safely report bullying behavior. For example, District 300 offers a Safety Tip Line where students can report bullying quickly and anonymously. Students can also contact the Safe School Tip Line at 847-551-8477 or by email at SafeSchoolTipLine@D300.org.
In our district, bullying of any kind, by any person, is unacceptable. All District 300 students deserve to be free from worries about being bullied. Please visit our social media channels throughout October for useful Bullying Awareness Prevention Month tips and information.
