Sleepy Hollow Elementary School Library offers MEDIA instruction to grades 1-5, alternating weekly with a LIBRARY SKILLS lesson (and book checkout) with a COMPUTER SKILLS lesson.  The kindergarten classes are included for book check-outs.

Students are allowed to have 2 books checked out at a time.  Books need to be returned before new books may be checked out.  There are no fines for overdue books.

The BIRTHDAY BOOK Program is a way for a family to add a book to the Sleepy Hollow Library while honoring their child's birthday. Every student will receive a letter of invitation just before his/her birthday month begins.  Birthday Books are chosen from a cart of new arrivals, and the child is the first to check out the new book. A special bookplate (containing the child's name and birthdate) is added to the book, inside the front cover, and the book is on display for a year. In 2009-2010, families added 210 Birthday Books to the library's collection.
