Grades

Students will receive a grade for band. The grade will be based on showing proper care for their instrument, utilizing proper playing techniques, applying music reading skills, and showing proper performance expectations. 

Rules

In order to make band a positive learning experience for all, I have made the following rules and consequences for lessons and rehearsals:

Rule 1:  Do not talk or play your instrument when the teacher is talking or at inappropriate times. 

Rule 2: Always show proper care for your instrument. 

Rule 3: Show respect toward yourself, other students, and the teacher.

More than 1 warning: The student will have a private conference with the teacher after rehearsal to discuss their behavior.

More than 2 warnings: The student will return to their classroom and may miss recess.

If these rules continue to be broken, the teacher will talk to the student's parents or guardians to discuss their behavior and if they should continue in the band program.
