This is my 11th year of teaching fifth grade band in District 300. I am currently teaching at Algonquin Lakes, Dundee Highlands, Eastview, Liberty and Sleepy Hollow Elementary Schools. I have also previously taught at Lincoln Prairie and Neubert Elementary Schools. My Bachlor's degree in music education is from Eastern Illinois University, and I have a Master's in music education from Northern Illinois University. Prior to college, I was on active duty in the Marines and played in one of their field bands in North Carolina. My primary instrument is the trombone, which I still play often and teach private lessons. Some performing groups I have been a member of are the Chicago Brass Band, Woodstock City Band, Crystal Lake Community Band, and am currently playing with the Chicago Trombone Authority.

I live in McHenry with my wife, who also teaches band, and our two boys, ages 6 and 4. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing trombone, trying to learn guitar, and bowling. I truly enjoy teaching beginning band and hope to continue working with this age group well into the fututre.
