Dear Fifth Grade Orchestra Students and Parents;
On Saturday, April 14th there will be a solo and ensemble contest at Dundee Crown High School beginning at 8:00 a.m. Fifth graders are usually scheduled between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Each orchestra students is eligible to be in two events, however it is not necessary to participate at all. This is an opportunity for students to play for a judge who will give them helpful hints to become better players. Extra preparation will be necessary to ensure that this is a positive experience. Each fifth grade orchestra student is encouraged to participate in possible.
A solo is played by just the student. An ensemble involves playing with one to three other students each playing an independent part. They should practice on their own - not just at school.
Please bear in mind that this is an added activity. There also is a $5.00 entry fee per event. (Please do not send the fee at this time.) Only indicate below if you will be able to get your child to and from Dundee Crown High School between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14th. Each event takes about 6 minutes. You will receive a schedule for the time and room in which you will perform one to two weeks ahead of time. You will need to be at Dundee Crown for about 30 minutes.
