WHAT'S HAPPENING IN 5TH GRADE MUSIC??
The 5th grade concert is on Thursday, April 12th, 2012 @ 7:00!
Fifth grade meets 30 minutes on Mondays and Wednesdays for Music class.
Here are some things you can expect your 5th grader to learn this year:
Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm!! 5th graders are becoming experts at counting and creating rhythm!

5th graders have now been introduced to all notes and rests ranging from eighth to whole. They have recently brainstormed how to use non-musical objects to make musical rhythms (inspired by the group STOMP).
Later in the year 5th graders will be: writing their own songs; studying composers; applying rhythms to new situations; learning to read new songs; studying 20th c. popular music and musicians; and more!!
