Dr. Cara S. Helminski, Ed.D.
I have been teaching in District 300 since I began my career in 1996. I have a special education degree from Eastern Illinois University, a Master's in Educational Leadership from Aurora University and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Aurora University. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Childhood through Young Adulthood Exceptional Needs. I am currently working to renew my certification as a National Board Teacher.
This is my 7th year teaching and living in Hampshire. I LOVE it here!!!! I am actively involved in the RtI movement in our school, conducting many interventions throughout the day, along with supporting our special needs students in their general education classrooms.
I live with my husband and 3 children, Evan, Ella and Emma Kate. Outside of school I enjoy reading, watching my children participate in football, cheerleading, dance, tumbling and school activities.
I hope your child has a GREAT year at HES!!!!
