Welcome to Mrs. Collins' 2nd Grade!!

A good learning experience is built upon a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher. My expectations for conduct and academic growth are high. I want my students to enjoy the learning process, and I will do my best to encourage my students to succeed in all areas.

There are a lot of wonderful things I have planned for this school year. We will be learning about the importance of feeling comfortable in our classroom, working as a team, and the importance of friendship. This year in addition to our reading, writing, and math, we will be covering other interesting topics such as animals, dinosaurs, and exploring culture appreciation.

About Mrs. Collins

To tell you a little about myself, this is my twelfth year teaching and ninth year teaching second grade. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University and earned my Master’s Degree from Aurora University in 2002. I also accomplished a National Board Certification in 2005.

I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband. In addition, I compete in regional Quarter Horse shows and enjoy skiing. Charger, our dog, would be jealous if I did not mention spending time with him too!

If you had not concluded from my classroom...

I am also a NASCAR fan and I love to cheer on Kasey Kahne formally #9.... NOW#4!!
