Golfview Media Center

1. Students visit the Media Center or Computer Lab on a weekly basis, on the same day every week.
2. Mrs. Demetriou provides group instructional lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Instruction changes weekly and includes activities pertaining to literature appreciation, library skills, research, and computer skills.
3. Book check out is on Tuesday and Thursday with Mrs. Frazier.
4. Students will be allowed to check out one book every week. This privilege will be suspended if items are overdue. Students may return books any time during the week.
5. Students will be charged the price of the book for any damage or loss.
6. We do not censor the students’ selections, however, we do try to guide their choices.

Please help your child to develop a love of reading by:

1. Finding a comfortable reading area.
2. Enjoying the books together.
3. Alternating reading aloud and listening.

Please help your child develop a respect for books by:

1. Using bookmarks.
2. Having clean hands when reading.
3. Turning pages from the upper right-hand corner.
4. Keeping books out of reach of younger siblings and pets.
5. Returning books on time so others may enjoy them.
