Overview

The Cambridge Lakes Learning Center (CLLC), more commonly known as “the charter school”, is opening Fall 2007. It is managed and operated completely independently from other District 300 schools. CLLC is located within the Cambridge Lakes subdivision in the Village of Pingree Grove and was developed in concert with Cambridge Homes and the Northern Kane Educational Corp. (NKEC). By law, students who live near the school are not to be given “priority” when enrolling.

The CLLC was built through a private loan that will be repaid by you the taxpayer. Likewise, public money funds its daily operations, with D300 passing along per-pupil General State Aid to the charter school. Therefore, it is a public (not private) school and is open to all K – 8 students from across District 300.

The charter school is not subject to all of the same federal / state rules and requirements that other D300 public schools must follow.

  • Sept. 10, 2007:

  • March 24 to 28: 
    		• Spring Break
  • Nov. 22 to 23: 
    		• closed for Thanksgiving holiday
  • May 26: 
    		• closed for Memorial Day
