Presentation by a HB750 author

On April 24, 2007, the District 300 Community Finance Committee (CFC) listened to a presentation by Ralph Martire, who helped author one of the current proposals to reform education funding in Illinois – known as House Bill 750. This was a chance for the committee and the audience of about 25 to listen and ask questions.

NOTE: The CFC plans to invite one or more other speakers to present and answer questions regarding the various proposals being considering at the state level. School districts must be informed about the potential impact on their budget of any funding proposals that could be adopted.

Mr. Martire is executive director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability (CBTA), which is a bi-partisan research group that was founded in 2000. Here is his presentation to District 300 on April 24.
