Philosophy of Supervision and Evaluation: Community Unit School District (CUSD) 300 is committed to providing the best possible education for public school children. To that end, a process of supervision and evaluation of certified staff is established to promote excellence in instruction and service to students that is based upon continuous professional growth and a quest for distinguished levels of performance. Purpose of Evaluation: The primary purpose of the evaluation process shall be improvement of instruction and/or the performance of other responsibilities by the non-administrative certified staff of District 300. This evaluation process is based upon modified versions of the Danielson Framework and represents what the District and its teachers agree to be the best representation of core standards of performance. The Evaluation Committee: The Evaluation Committee meets at least twice a year for the purpose of collecting and analyzing data regarding the effectiveness of the evaluation criteria and process, developing and organizing yearly training (including inter-rater reliability), and refining and enhancing the evaluation criteria and process. The Evaluation Committee shall refine and enhance the criteria and procedures and the instruments to be used for the evaluation of certified staff. All agreed upon changes to the criteria, procedures, and instruments shall be updated on the District’s Web Site. The work of the Evaluation Committee supports District 300's Strategic Plan Goal #3: Employ and retain the highest caliber facutly, staff, and administration. 2008/2009 Observation/Evaluation Timeline Non-Tenured Dates Observation 1 is to be completed by October 27 Observation 2 is to be completed by December 19 Observation 3/Summative and Contract recommendation are to be completed by February 25 Tenured Dates Observation is to be completed by April 30 Summative evaluation form is to be completed by May 15 |
