Parents new to the community may use this website to determine what school their children will attend or call the D300 Administration Center at 1-847-426-1300 for information. Students are usually assigned to their neighbor school, but in special circumstances, they may be assigned to schools outside their neighborhoods. How do I register my child for school? For the 2007-2008 school year, kindergarten pupils must be five years of age before September 1, 2007. Round-up of kindergarten students is during May and enrollment is held on July 24, 25, & 26, 2007 and throughout the school year at the school of attendance. You will need the following information to enroll your child in District 300.

What schools are in District 300? District 300 is a Unit School District. One of the largest in the State of Illinois, it serves students 3 years old to Grade 12. The District has 1 Early Childhood Center (deLacey Family Education Center), 14 Elementary Schools, 1 Intermediate School, 4 Middle Schools, 1 Middle/High School, 2 High Schools, and 1 Alternative School.

Is there transportation to school? Your child is entitled to bus transportation if you are a resident of School District 300 and live 1-1/2 miles or more from the school he or she will attend.

Where do I find out what is for lunch? A reasonably priced school lunch is available at all school sites. Each meal is nutritious and well-balanced, and menus are determined by student preference. A monthly menu is distributed to students, and is also available on this Website under "D300 Services/Departments" on the home page. Milk is available for sale to children who bring their lunch from home.

What do I do if the weather is bad? Generally, schools will remain open except for extremely inclement weather. When severe weather conditions occur, parents must decide whether their children can get to school safely. Even when the superintendent decides to keep schools open, parents should review their own situation to determine if they should sentdtheir children to school.
On inclement weather days, the school district encourages parents to check the website for up-to-date information on school closings or listen to the radio or watch TV. For school closings check this website, the TV and radio, or the D300 general weather/emergency number 847-426-1300.

Can I visit my child at school? We welcome your visit to school and classrooms. To help us make your visit meaningful, please schedule your visit in advance with the office staff or teacher. We do not encourage visits immediately before school holidays since those are extremely busy times for teachers and other staff members. Please report to the office before visiting any program or class. |
How should my child dress for outdoor play? Children should come to school appropriately dressed for the weather and active outdoor play. Students who walk or ride by private vehicle should not arrive at school until five minutes before school begins. Each school provides playground supervision at recess and lunch hour. |
What if my child loses something? We urge parents to mark all personal belongings with the student's name in ink or with a nametag. Each school maintains a lost and found area where children may claim their lost articles. Parents may search the lost and found for their child's lost clothing or school materials. The school district is not responsible for loss of personal property. |
Does D300 provide daycare? Some of our schools have worked out an agreement with the Dundee Township Park District to provide Circle of Friends, an after school program. The schools that currently offer Circle of Friends are Algonquin Lakes Elementary, Dundee Highlands Elementary, Eastview Elementary, Lake in the Hills Elementary, Liberty Elementary, Lincoln Prairie Elementary, Neubert Elementary, Parkview Elementary, Sleepy Hollow Elementary, and Westfield Community School.
In Addition the Boys and Girls Club offers a program at Perry Elementary School.
