IASB Presentation on "Aligning School and Community Leaders" Saturday, November 19, 2005 10:30 A.M. We are utilizing a panel presentation format. Darlene Johnson will act as our moderator. All members of the group introduce themselves and explain their role in the process. Each presenter then gives their portion of the presentation, timed by the moderator. We should save 20-30 minutes for questions at the end. How did the Community Leadership Council get developed? What were the early challenges? Explain the Letter of Understanding Current Community Membership List
Role of the superintendent How has this group helped the school/community connection? What other connections has this led to? (meetings with state reps. and senators)
What is the role of public officials on the council? How do the villages benefit? Talk about other villages approaches/solutions to common problems Working with growing villages with limited professional staff Border agreements/understanding the climate and plans of all surrounding communities
Impact Fees/ Transition Fees/Land Donations Property Tax Rebate Question Expanded gyms through the park district at 2 schools Land acquisition for combined school and village hall complex Intergovernmental agreements (signals at LP, HE Park District for school site, expanded gyms, Wireless WAN) Meetings with developers on new projects Speaking with village boards at meetings and public hearings
