African American Parent Group
In the summer of 2011, a group of dedicated local parents formed the first district-wide group focused on District 300 African American students and families. The name of this independent new group is the D300 African American Parent Advisory Committee, or AAPAC (pronounced A-pack). AAPAC was featured on page 4 of the June/July 2011 LEADER, which is the D300 community newsletter. AAPAC members frequently attend School Board meetings, hold their own public meetings, and coordinate special events and opportunities for African American students.
