Sleepy Hollow Elementary
Principal Jason Lentz
Spring 2013

The vision of Sleepy Hollow Elementary School is that each child will become an accomplished reader, writer, and mathematician. In addition, they will become knowledgeable about the world around them and develop the skills necessary to remain lifelong learners.

Greetings and Welcome to Sleepy Hollow Elementary School!

Nestled in a serene, scenic area, Sleepy Hollow Elementary is a school where we are delighted to see our students each day and are eager to help every child learn and grow. Sleepy Hollow Elementary School has earned a stellar reputation for providing quality education. We believe that each child is unique and we are committed to meeting his or her learning needs and helping them achieve success.

One hallmark of our Sleepy Hollow family is the very active support our parents provide us. We strongly believe that our parents are an intricate part of our learning community. There are many ways for parents to get involved. Please check the PTC link on our website to learn how.

As a community of learners, we have implemented our character education program, Character Counts! We believe that learning is a life-long process. We are dedicated to helping our students achieve academic excellence, learn to value and respect others, and become responsible citizens. We demonstrate this through implementing the recognized six pillars of character:

  • Trustworthiness
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Fairness
  • Caring
  • Citizenship

Each month we focus on a different pillar beginning with Trustworthiness in October and concluding with Citizenship in May.

Throughout the year there are many customs and traditions that the school and village of Sleepy Hollow participate in. However, one of the most exciting traditions is the ride of the headless horseman that occurs every Halloween at Sleepy Hollow School and in the Village of Sleepy Hollow. It is an awe-inspiring event that will take your breath away!

There are many other celebrations that we share in, watch our website for upcoming events. Due to the generous support of our excellent community - our children grow, thrive, and succeed at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School.
