Youth Leadership Opportunity

The Rotary Clubs of Dundee Township and Carpentersville are offering a free leadership conference for high school students who reside in Dundee Township. The conference is called RYLA: Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Students selected to participate in RYLA will attend an all-expense-paid three-day camp at Edwards Camp and Conference Center in East Troy, Wisconsin. The camp dates are March 8-11, 2018, or April 12-15, 2018.  Rotary arranges and pays for your transportation to and from the conference.

Talented young people from communities all around our area participate in this conference every year.  Programs at the conference include outdoor problem solving, team building, ropes courses and featured speakers. The activities at the conference emphasize leadership skills, personal development and citizenship.  The quote heard most often from high school students who attend RYLA is, “It was a life changing experience!”

The Dundee Township and Carpentersville Rotary Clubs are offering this opportunity to at least three high school students who reside in Dundee Township.  The Rotary Clubs pay for all expenses.  Click Here for the brochure. This is a great opportunity to build leadership skills and would look good on a resume or college application.  To apply for RYLA, please Click Here for the application and return the completed application BY FEBRUARY 12, 2018 to Colleen Thomas at 30 North Western Avenue, Carpentersville, IL 60110 or by e-mail to  Please visit or contact Colleen Thomas at 847.426.7990 for more information.
