Transportation Review Update

The following is an update for District 300 parents and interested persons regarding the independent, comprehensive review that will soon be conducted for the district’s transportation system.  For background on this issue, click here.

The outside organization that will conduct the review is TransitPro Logistics. The school transportation experts at TransitPro are now focused on the pre-audit phase, with site work starting in the near future.  The district anticipates the auditors' findings and recommendations will be available for School Board and public review in early December.

TransitPro Logistics President Todd Zoellick said his organization is pleased to partner with D300 on this comprehensive review. "Our goal mirrors that of District 300,” he said, “We will employ best practices to ensure the safest and most secure transportation system for all students. TransitPro Logistics will work with relevant individuals and organizations to review all aspects of the transportation system and report our findings to the district and the community in a timely and efficient manner."

The district’s point person for this audit is D300 Director of Safety Gary Chester, who met recently with TransitPro leaders to get the review started.  With safety as the top priority, areas of focus will include but not limited to:

Safety and Security Procedures

Operations and Logistics

Vehicle Inspections

Documentation

Route Scheduling and Efficiency

Communication

Training

Maintenance

Special Education Transportation

Medicaid Billing

Driver Education Vehicles
