Jacobs W.Y.S.E. Team Places First at Sectionals
Congratulations to the Jacobs High School Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (W.Y.S.E) team, who placed first at the Sectional competition held at Northern Illinois University on March 2, 2017, against six other Northern Illinois area schools!
Seven of the thirteen members received individual medals, and medals were earned in each of the following categories: biology, chemistry, English, physics, math, and computer science.
Nine medals were given to the Jacobs team and they achieved a near perfect normalized score of 497/500!
Individual medalists included:
Ben Alessio: 2nd Physics
Nick Bellizzi: 1st Computer Science
Trent Daley: 3rd Biology
David Johnson: 2nd Computer Science
Ryan McMahon: 3rd Chemistry
Jacob Moser: 1st Math and 1st Physics
Sam Smith: 1st Chemistry and 1st English
This is the second year in Jacobs history that the W.Y.S.E. team has earned a first place finish at the Sectional competition.
The entire team advances to the state competition at University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana on April 17th.
