Information Sessions for D300 Dual Language Program Jan. 22-23

Will your child be in kindergarten in the 2014-2015 school year? Are you interested in learning about the D300 Dual Language program, which is held at Liberty Elementary School and open to students throughout the district?  If you answer "yes" to both questions and you don’t have another child in this program, please be sure to attend one of the following information sessions at Liberty (6500 Miller Road, Carpentersville):

  • Wednesday, January 22, 2014  (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.)
  • Thursday, January 23, 2014 (9 to 10 a.m.)

Registrations will be taken during these information sessions.  It is mandatory for parents of prospective Dual Language students to attend one of the sessions. (Families who already have a child in this program and want to enroll a sibling do not have to attend a session.)

While the program is open to all D300 families, transportation is only provided to students whose attendance zone is Liberty Elementary School.

What is Dual Language?  A Dual Language Program is an enriched form of education. The program is open both to English and Spanish speakers.  The goal of this researched-based, two-way language initiative is to develop a high level of achievement in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in two languages for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program strives to promote bilingualism and bi-literacy while promoting positive attitudes, knowledge and appreciation of other cultures and their languages.

If you have any questions regarding the information sessions, please call Liberty at 224.484.4800 or the D300 Central Office at 847.551.8324.
