Dual Language Orientation Opportunities

Will your child enroll in Kindergarten in the 2013-2014 school year?

Are you interested in learning about the District 300 Dual Language program, which is open to English and Spanish speakers?

If you answered "yes" to both questions, please plan to attend one of the two informational sessions taking place at Liberty Elementary School (6500 Miller Road, Carpentersville) in January:

  • January 16, 2013 (9 to 10 a.m.)
  • January 17, 2013 (6 to 7:30 p.m.)

Registrations will be taken during these informational sessions.

A Dual Language Program is an enriched form of education. The program is open both to English and Spanish speakers.  The goal of this researched-based, two-way language initiative is to develop a high level of achievement in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in two languages for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program strives to promote bilingualism and bi-literacy while promoting positive attitudes, knowledge and appreciation of other cultures and their languages.

While the program is open to all D300 families, transportation is only provided to students whose attendance zone is Liberty Elementary School.

If you have any questions regarding the orientation meetings, please call Liberty Elementary School at 224.484.4800, or call the D300 Central Office at 847.551.8324.
