Carpentersville Middle School's Amy O'Herron Wins Kane County Middle School Teacher of the Year Award!

Congratulations to Carpentersville Middle School's Amy O'Herron who won the Kane County Regional Office of Education's Middle School Teacher of the Year Award!

Amy wanted to be a teacher ever since she could remember. As a little girl, she was often caught playing school in her basement with her stuffed animals. Amy’s first teaching job was at Lakewood School where she taught for four years. She currently teaches at Carpentersville Middle School. Amy is respected by her students, parents, and co-workers.  She plays a positive, active role at Carpentersville Middle School as one of the facilitators of our building’s PBIS Universal Team and as a member of the building Safety Team.  Amy is seen as a leader among our staff.  She inspires her students to love learning and to inspire them to better both in and out of school.

Amy is a hard working individual who knows that middle school students need strong support and consistency. She understands students are more than a test score and strives to make them better citizens. Amy is someone who willingly gives her time to any committee at school.  She has been a part of Safety Team, Universal/PBIS Team, and Man In Demand/Dare To Be Rare at both Lakewood and Carpentersville Middle School.
