Annual Notice of Scheduled Public Meetings

School District 300 leaders are committed to providing resources and opportunities for the community to learn about the school district and stay actively involved in the decision-making process.   The following resources are available to the community related to D300 School Board meetings:

BOARD MEETING AGENDAS, MINUTES, PACKETS, PRESENTATIONS, AND VIDEOS: To view the agenda and other meeting materials for any public meeting, please visit the D300 BoardDocs webpage.  Meeting agendas and supporting materials are posted to the BoardDocs website at least 48 hours in advance of each regularly scheduled Board meeting.  As a service to the public, the day after the meeting, a meeting video is typically posted to the BoardDocs webpage as well as the CUSD300 YouTube channel.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT BOARD MEETINGSInformation about public participation at Board meetings and Board committee meetings is available in Board Policy 2:230 within the Online Board Policy Manual.

CONTACTING THE BOARDAll Board members are unpaid volunteers elected by the public to serve 4‐year terms.  You may read the biography and committee assignments for each Board member here. You are welcome to e‐mail the Board by writing to Board@d300.org, which will reach all seven Board members as well as Superintendent Dr. Michael Bregy. A representative of the Board will acknowledge your e‐mail and, if you have questions, assist you in obtaining answers. Because the Board is not involved in the daily operations of our schools, before contacting the Board please first make every reasonable attempt to resolve your issue or question directly with the appropriate staff member(s).

MEETING SCHEDULEThis announcement represents the district’s annual notice of public meetings that are scheduled for the coming school year, including meetings of the full Board as well as the Board Committees. The following dates should be treated as a list of currently scheduled meetings, as of August 30, 2013.  Please note that District 300 may change the dates/times of these regularly scheduled Board meetings up to 10 days in advance of the originally planned date, as allowed by law.  The district may also change the dates/times of Board committee meetings up to 48 hours in advance of the originally planned date.  (Further, the district may add meetings or cancel them as needed.)  Notification of such changes would be posted publicly at the meeting location, at the D300 Central Office, via e‐mail to the news media, and on the D300 Public Meetings Calendar webpage at: http://www.d300.org/node/1745. BOARD OF EDUCATION 

The Board of Education typically meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.  (Closed/executive session typically begins at 6 p.m.  Open/public session typically begins at 7:30 p.m.)  However, meetings are held on Tuesday if the Monday is a legal holiday.  Also, there is just one regular Board meeting during the months of July, December, and March.

All Board of Education meetings are scheduled to be held at Westfield Community School in the Professional Development Center (PDC).  The school is located at 2100 Sleepy Hollow Road in Algonquin.  Please use the PDC entrance, which is door #5 on the north side of the campus.
