CARPENTERSVILLE - Parents and the general community are welcome to attend a special forum Wednesday (March 17) to provide input on the search for the new District 300 superintendent.
The parent/community forum will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday (March 17) and will be held in the Board Room of the D300 Administration Center, 300 Cleveland Avenue in Carpentersville. (Parking and entry are both on the back/south side of the building.) It will be facilitated by Hazard, Young, Attea & Assoc.(HYA), the professional recruiting firm which the D300 School Board has contracted to shepherd the search process.
After 10 years leading D300, Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Arndt will retire on June 30, 2011.
The forum will be an open discussion in which parents and other community members can share their ideas and provide input, which HYA will compile and share with the School Board as the Board seeks a new superintendent. At the forum, HYA will seek public input on three key questions:
- What are the strengths of District 300 that are important to continue and support?
- What are the challenges that will face District 300 in the next few years?
- What characteristics, skills, and/or experience would you like the next D300 superintendent to possess?
D300 staff members will have a separate forum with HYA to provide their input on the superintendent search. The staff forum will be held at 4 p.m. on March 17 in the Board Room. Persons who are both parents and staff members are welcome to attend either of the forums or both.
Additionally, HYA is conducting one-on-one focus groups next week with several stakeholder groups, such as municipal leaders, PTO Council presidents and other parent groups, ministerial leaders, administration, the D300 Foundation Board, and labor group representatives.
