Students, staff, parents, and community members throughout District 300 are encouraged to register for the 2nd Annual D300 Relay For Life. It will be held (rain or shine) at Hampshire High School overnight Friday evening, June 11, 2010, to Saturday morning June 12.
The 2009 event was extremely successful and was the first ever district-wide Relay For Life. D300 far exceeded its fundraising goal, which goes to support cancer research, community education on cancer, and those fighting cancer as well as their caregivers. More than 800 students and adults came together from across D300 for a common cause and had a great time doing it, raising over $80,000 for the American Cancer Society.
A district-wide committee led by high school students from Hampshire, Dundee-Crown, and Jacobs has been meeting since last fall to plan a successful 2010 event. It will include camping, ceremonies, entertainment, games, and much more.
Team and individual registration is GOING ON NOW at www.relayforlifed300.com. Volunteers are also needed, including chaperones. Become part of the tradition and support an important cause!
