News and Announcements

In February of 2017, Dr. Bill Doran, District 300's Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools, hosted a series of informational evenings for parents of incoming kindergarten students. You can view Dr. Doran's entire PowerPoint Presentation (as a PDF) by clicking here.

Parents and Guardians,

Several District 300 schools will serve as polling locations for the February 28, consolidated primary election.

As student safety remains our highest priority, each voting location is strategically placed to ensure that the general public does not come in contact with D300 students within the building.

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Beginning January 1, 2017, Illinois Public Act 099-0843 requires schools to request an Asthma Action Plan for all students diagnosed with asthma.  The Asthma Action Plan must be written by a physician, kept on file in the School Health Office, and be updated annually.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In alignment to our commitment to student and staff safety, District 300 is enhancing our security procedures. Effective March 1, 2017, all District 300 schools will implement a new visitor management system, replacing the current paper-based sign-in sheets. This system will check visitors against several security databases prior to granting access into our schools. The system will also automate the process by which the District tracks visitors.

D300 will perform an upgrade to Infinite Campus on Monday, February 20th beginning at 5pm.  Infinite Campus Parent and Student Portals will be unavailable for a few hours to complete this upgrade.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Influenza activity has been on the rise and is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with widespread influenza activity being reported in most states.

As part of influenza surveillance, public school districts within Kane County report influenza absenteeism data weekly to the Kane County Health Department.

District 300 to Host Meetings for Parents and Guardians of Incoming Kindergarten Students

District 300 families preparing to enroll their child (or children) into kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year are invited to an upcoming Kindergarten Roundup Informational Meeting.

Kindergarten Roundup Informational Meetings will run from February 21 through February 28th at each District 300 middle school. Parents and guardians may attend any one of the following meetings:

On February 14, 2017, Superintendent Fred Heid and the District 300 Board of Education presented Jacobs sophomore Aida Frey with membership into D300's Blue Ribbon Society.

The Blue Ribbon Society acknowledges individuals who demonstrate admirable qualities while striving to achieve District 300’s Central Mission: to ensure all students are college or career ready upon graduation.

The Jacobs Volleyball Program and the Relay for Life District 300 committee are hosting the second annual Volley For Life tournament on February 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs High School for all schools in District 300.

Team sign up is now open.

Teams must include 6-10 students or teachers with at least 2 females or 2 males as it is a co-ed tournament.

The Rotary Clubs of Dundee Township and Carpentersville are offering a free leadership conference for high school students who reside in Dundee Township. The conference is called RYLA: Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.

Students selected to participate in RYLA will attend an all-expense-paid three-day camp at Edwards Camp and Conference Center in East Troy, Wisconsin. The camp dates are March 9-12, 2017, or April 6-9, 2017.
