News and Announcements

As a reminder, all incoming Early Childhood (first time students), Kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade, and 12th grade students must be up-to-date with physical examination and immunization requirements before August 1, 2017.

District 300 participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) allowing the district, through its partnership with Aramark, to offer school breakfast and school lunch to our students at all schools*.   Meal prices for 2017/2018 at the D300 schools will be $1.50 for breakfast and $2.85 for lunch.  Families are invited to complete a Household Eligibility Application to determine if they are eligible to receive meals for free or at a reduced price ($0.30 for breakfast or $0.40 for lunch).

The Infinite Campus Part Portal will be down on Monday, July 10 from 7pm to 9pm for routine maintenance. We thank you for your patience in this process.

District 300’s annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive benefitting students in need is scheduled for Saturday, July 15, from 9am to 1pm, at the Walmart located at 1410 S. Randall Road, Algonquin (adjacent to Algonquin Commons).

A District 300 bus will be stationed by the Walmart front entrance collecting donations and school supplies to support McKinney Vento (homeless) students and students receiving free and reduced lunch who will attend District 300 schools in the fall.

Have you ever considered becoming a teacher in your community? If so, District 300 may have an exciting job opportunity for you!

District 300 is looking for individuals interested in becoming industrial education teachers. We are currently looking for individuals who would like to share their knowledge in Auto Mechanics, Woodworking, CAD, Video Production, and Electricity Fields.

Our middle school start and end times (i.e. bell times) have consistently been 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. since the 2008-2009 school year.   Prior to the 2008-2009 school year, bell times for the middle schools was 9:10 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.  Under the current schedule, we have struggled with our ability to support “on time” afternoon transportation at middle schools. These delays have also impacted after school athletics and other activities that rely upon availability of drivers to support their transportation needs.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have received confirmation that a third Jacobs High School student who had been awaiting test results has tested positive for mumps.

The student has been out of school since May 14th and, as a result, there is minimal chance that other students were exposed during the period of time that he may have been contagious.

In District 300, we believe that students should enjoy reading and have the opportunity to choose a summer reading book that interests them.

That’s why, in the summer of 2017, we are giving you, the student, the ability to select one of 10 exciting books including:

District 300 Staff, Students, and Community,

One of the things we pride ourselves on is that regardless of which school a child attends, District 300 is one large family. Baskets of purple ribbons will be available inside the Sears Centre for all of our graduations. All graduates are invited to wear a purple ribbon to show their support for the Hampshire community.

Dear Parent and Guardians,

We have just received notification from the Health Department regarding a second confirmed case of the mumps at Jacobs. In addition, we were also made aware of a possible third case pending test results early next week.
