Four items from one School Board meeting in one minute!

The District 300 Board of Education has approved the hiring of Chris Columbaro as the new principal of Algonquin Lakes Elementary School (Algonquin, IL), effective July 1, 2014.   To watch a video of the commentary about Mr. Columbaro as he was formally introduced at last evening’s Board meeting (February 10, 2014), you may visit our Board Docs webpage.  After choosing the February 10 Board of Education link on the left, click the Watch Video button, then scroll down and select agenda item #9.1.

At a public meeting, the District 300 School Board heard last evening (Feb. 10, 2014) the findings of the outside organization, TransitPro Logistics, that recently studied the D300 transportation system with a particular focus on student and staff safety.

The following are some special activities happening in and around D300 this month to honor and celebrate Black History Month: 

The 50th anniversary of Dundee Highlands Elementary School will be celebrated during an auction and dinner on Saturday, March 1.  The public is invited to purchase tickets or make a donation through February 14; click here for the ticket form and details, or visit https://sites.google.com/site/dundeehighlandsptc/fundraising/auction

The District 300 School Board has begun a national search for a new superintendent and has asked the firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Assoc. to help the School Board with this important process.
