News and Announcements

Throughout the holiday season, the District 300 Central Office and our schools are involved in several charitable campaigns.

District 300 would like to thank all our students, staff, and community members who are supporting a cause this holiday season.

If you are interested in supporting any of the charitable campaigns below, please email Anthony McGinn at anthony.mcginn@d300.org.

Some of the charitable causes include:

With this evening's light snow and dropping temperatures our district teams will be working to ensure that our lots and sidewalks are safe and free of ice. Later this evening, crews will be salting our lots and entry ways. This will be repeated again first thing in the morning. We expect low temps but clear skies for tomorrow. Please remind novice drivers about stopping distance, reducing speed, and gradual acceleration at lights/stops.

D300 Foundation Grants Now Open!

Congratulations to the Hampshire High School Wrestling Teams:

After tough matches against Prairie Ridge on Thursday and Jacobs on Friday, the Hampshire varsity wrestling team competed at the Tom Dubois Classic in Richmond on Saturday while the freshman team participated in the Freshmen Palatine Tournament.

On the varsity team, junior Christian Rivero and senior Casey Allen won their respective tournament championships. Senior Mark Brown took 3rd place, senior Nathan Price and freshmen Palmer Larson placed 4th.

From December 8 through December 10, 25% of all proceeds from the Jersey Mike’s located at 123 S. Western Avenue in Carpentersville will be donated to Sleepy Hollow Elementary School.

Special Education Day - Thank You Education Services Team:

Saturday, December 2 marks the 42nd anniversary of our nation’s first federal Special Education Law, the Education for All Handicapped Children Act (now known as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), which President Gerald Ford signed in 1975.

December 2 marks Special Education Day and I would like to offer my thanks to our dedicated Education Services team.

November 15th marks National Educational Support Professionals Day and District 300 would like to send our sincere appreciation to our classroom aides, cafeteria workers, hall monitors, and secretaries who work so hard in our buildings every single day.

District 300’s Educational Support Professionals are essential partners in creating an ideal learning environment for our students. Educational Support Professionals are often the first person students encounter on a daily basis as they set the tone for a positive day.

November 15 marks Illinois Board Member Day and District 300 would like to send a sincere thank you to Anne Miller, Joe Stevens, Steve Fiorentino, Kym Garcia, Susie Kopacz, Mary McNicholas, and David Scarpino for their tireless dedication to our students, our staff, our schools, our district, and our community.

District 300 Board Members play a vital role in our education system, working to improve student achievement in our schools by developing policies, adopting curriculum, reviewing budgets, and addressing student, staff, parent, and community concerns.
