D300 Parent University to Host “Worries of the Worldwide Web”

D300 Parent University will host Worries of the Worldwide Web on November 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Westfield Community School (2100 Sleepy Hollow Road, Algonquin, IL).

While technology creates convenience in our lives, danger can lurk in computer and cell phone files. What children may view as an innocent photo can morph into life-altering evidence. How do we keep our kids connected but safe at the same time?

Kane County Judges Clint Hull and Susan Clancy Boles will speak to parents about the unseemly aspects of social media — cyber bullying, posting inappropriate content, sexting or harassment — and the consequences involved.

As criminal court judges, Hull and Boles see it as their responsibility to educate the public on keeping kids safe in a digital world. Their fast-moving presentation includes lighthearted moments, but also serves serious reminders of outcomes directly attributable to social media.

Join us for what is sure to be an informative evening.

There will be ample time for a Q&A session after the presentation.
