(Bilingual Parent Advisory Committe)

The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC)/ Title I COMPACT consisting of the following: parents, legal guardians, transitional bilingual teachers, and community leaders serves in an advisory capacity to matters related to the District's Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) programs and Title I schools.
The State requirement for the TBE program establishes that the committee shall: 1. Meet at least four times a year; 2. Maintain on file with school district, minutes of these meeting; and 3. Review district's annual program application to the State Board of Education The State requirements for Title I establish that the committee shall: 1. Actively be involved in both the development and oversight of the District and schools' Parental Involvement Policies; 2. Participate in the writing of the COMPACT agreement; 3. Train parents to enhance the involvement of other parents; 4. The agreement will be written in English and in the native language of the parents, where feasible. COMPACTS, used in conjunction with other school strategies, can strengthen the ties between families, students and teachers, and establish a stronger environment for learning.-

Dual Language Sub Committee
The dual language subcommittee operates under the umbrella of the BPAC/Title I COMPACT for the purpose increasing parental involvement in the classroom, school, district & community. The dual language parent organization will, through the BPAC/Title I committee, partner with administrators, teachers, and the community by involving the dual language students in the bilingual community to better the dual language program and bridge the gap between languages and cultures
